Shop East is me trying to hand you a piece of Hong Kong to get you through a Nordic winter, whether you asked for it or not. It's what happens when someone falls a little too hard for a city and can't stop bringing it up at parties.
I've been low-key obsessed with Hong Kong at night for years. The neon signs bleeding into wet pavement, that 2am hum when the whole city is still wide awake and slightly unhinged about it. Gorgeous. Chaotic. Not even a little bit calm.
Then I went and moved somewhere that is, structurally, the opposite of that. Nordic winters don't do chaos. They do one long grey Tuesday from October to March, sun optional. Beautiful in its own way, sure, but your wardrobe starts begging for more highlights and colour by December.
So Shop East happened. What if the loudest, most electric parts of a Hong Kong night lived on a hoodie you could wear to work or school without anyone blinking? Neon energy, Nordic-proof styling. A lot of joy smuggled into your closet.
Every hoodie gets made fresh the second you hit "buy," like a sandwich shop but for neon streetwear. Nothing pre-made, no garage full of unsold hoodies giving me the side-eye. Printed through a proper European or US setup, GRS-certified recycled cotton, the whole responsible-adult thing. Small batches.
